Malahide

Today the girls and I went to Malahide. We spent the first part of the day at the beach which was lovely. The breeze was a bit cool so we didn't swim but the water was surprisingly really warm. We walked all around just soaked up the sunshine, enjoying the beautiful day. I think I have gotten more color from the sun here in Ireland in a week than I did back home in a month...that doesn't seem right! Then we hopped on a cute little train and went to see Malahide Castle. It wasn't a huge castle but it was still really grand and beautiful, especially the courtyard and acres upon acres of land surrounding it. It's getting a lot easier to communicate with my housemates. Going on these trips together are quite interesting because none of us speak the same primary language so it is really entertaining to try to explain certain words or concepts when someone doesn't understand. I'm just really happy that I have these wonderful girls to hang out with...but they will unfortunately all be leaving soon. Well, that's all for today...tomorrow will be a very early morning because we are heading off to Galway!

  2. I am totally enjoying your blog! It is almost as good as being there. Well...sorta. So in addition to a blog, you need to keep a travel log. Buy a little notebook (yes, dear, paper products are still sometimes best) and track all of your travels. What flight you took, how you got from the airport, how much it cost, locations of hotels, bars, attractions, how you got there, etc etc. You can share with fellow travelors you meet and get details from them about where they've been and use it as a reference when you return 5, 10, or 20 years from now.
